The beauty she left behind will bring me daily joy for years to come. It is with great pleasure that I write this testimonial for Amy Riger (AiM Interior Design). I have worked with Amy on 2 projects over a 3 year period. When I first met with Amy, she clearly described the process and provided options in terms of her services, and detailed costs as well as resources relative to furnishings and materials. She presented photos of different design styles of past projects. After our initial meeting, it was clear to me that Amy was not only an extraordinary human being but passionate about her work and knowledgeable on all levels of design work. Our first project together consisted of choosing and placement of new pieces of furniture for many rooms, selecting custom window treatments, art, lighting, and modifying a guest bedroom to incorporate a functional office. Amy created a space that was warm and incorporated ideas to maximize functionality with style. With regard to the guest bedroom/office, Amy efficiently planned the space by taking precise measurements and provided an easy-to-follow illustration of her vision. She sourced a custom headboard (and accessories) to fit perfectly, suggested overhead storage on the opposite wall where space was not utilized, and designed a built-in wall to wall desk with decorative doors and drawers, and shelving (including hardware), not to mention a stained desktop to match the wood floor (stunning!). Amy guided me through the entire process from initial design concept to final completion. This was no small task. At every turn in every room, I needed to rely on Amy’s expertise in helping me to “see the bigger picture”, and she did not disappoint. I had no idea that so much could be done with a guest room of that size. Amy is a good listener, she is patient, kind, and creative. She took the time to find out my likes and dislikes relative to the vibe we were going for. She sourced furniture within our budget and gave us multiple options to choose from but didn’t overwhelm us. Any feedback was thoughtfully considered and addressed. When we were in the process of selling our home, each potential buyer and realtor that walked through, relayed positive comments about the coastal furnishings and asked for the name of the person that designed the guest bedroom/office space, as well as the custom window treatments. Fast forward two years later, I purchased a new house that needed a complete renovation. I called Amy. Amy was involved in every aspect of the renovation process of our home. She designed the kitchen layout shifting cabinets and appliances. incorporating a kitchen island with quartz and decorative panels. Amy designed the layout of three full bathrooms, suggesting amenities that make daily life more enjoyable, keeping pace with functionality, including modern trends that add value, all within a reasonable budget. If I wasn’t in love with something she selected or proposed, she was incredibly professional and adaptable. Also, there were times when my wants or ideas were not realistic or there was a better solution. Amy patiently and professionally walked me through her thinking each time I had concerns or questions. She took the time to stop in as contractors were on site to assist & answer questions with a quiet confidence. Amy is supportive and willing to pivot as needed to keep the projects moving forward. Her attention to detail was appreciated. This includes, the selection of wall colors, new interior doors, interior lighting, new flooring, new molding, window treatments, a finished basement, furniture sourcing/placement, art, accessories, and pro-active follow-up with suppliers. As someone who “buys the outfit off the mannequin” for me it is impossible to know where to start when designing a room or a home. Amy helped guide us in every right direction for a major home renovation - she was able to put together three beautiful bathrooms that complimented each other but are also set apart with their unique styles. She helped with exterior design, paint, lighting, you name it- and we are still going. She is attentive to her clients’ needs and perspectives but brings character and innovative ideas that you wouldn’t otherwise think of. She is honest and fair, and is always available to help. Not only that, but she found reasonable marble on line for us to purchase ourselves for the floor! She had great ideas to update an old apartment and turn it into a gem, like putting a mosaic tile in a small backsplash behind our vintage farm sink which picked up the new colors for the walls. Oh, and she picked out a really fun color for the metal base of the sink. We developed a color scheme for the entire apartment that flowed and also allowed each room to have its own personality. She had great ideas and suggestions that fit our budget and the age of our home. My next project will be to pick out a custom swivel chair at her store for our front room.
